The Homestead is a waterfront retreat on the west-facing shore of Westsound on Orcas Island, perfect for a romantic weekend or family reunion for a week. Our two lodgings, the Seaside Studio and Blackberry Bungalow, are tucked away on a sunny, natural 4 acre waterfront site.
Sunsets, a private beach and dock are yours to enjoy. The Homestead offers an eight person hot tub in secluded setting with a lovely sunset view along the water's edge.
Enjoy a diverse setting?
Small boats can moor at our dock and there is a delightful secluded beach with easy access. This charming spot features rocky outcroppings and many tide pools, a perfect spot to see marine life up close.
For trips in the bay we have a row boat and a kayak at the dock. You are an easy row over to Skull Island Marine State Park where you may enjoy wildflowers in the spring or a lazy afternoon picnic in the summer or fall.
Pristine hiking trails and panoramic island vistas are just a five minute walk from our driveway, at the 1,500 acre Turtleback Mountain Reserve .
On Orcas Island
If a brush with civilization is needed, the village of Eastsound is a 15-minute undulating drive away, with time to take in some spectacular scenery along the way. Take your pick of the myriad activities that we recommend: boating, fishing, whale-watching, hiking, biking and kayaking is at your fingertips. Or simply find a nice spot and relax.
The Homestead is the perfect place for children and adults alike. Our unique location provides lots of natural space, from the naturally diverse inter-tidal zone to open meadows of Turtleback Mountain; there is a place for people of all ages.
